V.V.Karunaratne & Company was registered on the 1st of December 1986 as a partnership company and is one of the leading establishments in Sri Lanka engaged in the fields of Transportation and Logistics, Customs Clearing and Forwarding, Container Warehousing, Building Construction, Road Development, Aluminium Fabrication etc.
The management structure of the organization is as follows. The company is headed by the Chairman Mr.V.V.Karunaratne, whose experience and knowledge in the fields of construction and transportation could be matched by only a few in the country. Mr. Karunaratne’s sons have also now entered the family business and contribute towards the professionalism and hi-tech knowledge that is required for a business to develop and flourish.
The Company with a futuristic view has planned for expansion in related fields and diversification into other trades. Focusing towards expansion with a purpose and with meticulous planning , the Company has incorporated several limited liability Companies such as, VVK Maritime Agencies (Pvt.) Ltd., VVK Alucon Industries (Pvt.) Ltd., VVK International Logistics (Pvt.) Ltd. and VVK Machinery & Equipment (Pvt.) Ltd., under the umbrella of V.V.Karunaratne & Co.
The company acquired ISO 9001 ??? 2000 standards certification, in 2oo8 . Assisted by a totally inspired and dedicated team of professionals, the name VV KARUNARATNE has carved out an image of true efficiency and professionalism in Sri Lanka. With a view to taking this image to the globe, a subsidiary company named VVK CONSTRUCTION (PVT) LTD, was registered in the Republic of Maldives as the first step towards, globalization.
